Amy Mickelson Bracelet

My fascination with beads and colors began at an early age. I would spend hours on the living room floor, with a box of Crayolas and pads of white paper. Beads were always available for projects, as I was a daughter of a Girl Scout troop leader.

My collection of beads traveled with me when I moved west, but lingered in a sewing box until they burned in a house fire in 1989. My passion for beads rekindled in the early 1990’s and I have been collecting beads and beading ever since.

My focus in beadwork is making jewelry, especially necklaces and bracelets and earrings. Most of my time in the design process is spent choosing colors.

I have an innate sense of color and am known for creating jewelry in interesting and pleasing color combinations. I am intrigued by the endless possibilities of color combinations that working with glass beads allows.

I combine colorful glass beads in various intricate patterns and designs to create jewelry. Much of my work uses sculptural and off-loom weaving techniques.
